For sale: ‘67 VW 11-Window Kombi – Velvet Green Patina Survivor
'Authentic Velvet Green patina, 1776 power and a bespoke Airteriors interior'

A single-colour Velvet Green original-paint Kombi with beautifully weathered patina is a rare thing, and this one is a true standout. Used weekly throughout the summer and properly dialled-in, it’s the kind of bus you can simply jump into and go. Reliable, characterful, and full of charm, it carries its history with pride.

Mechanically, it’s excellent. The 1776 engine with upgraded twin carbs pulls strongly and settles into an easy cruise. The original gearbox was taken to John Walklett, who fitted taller 3rd and 4th gears while retaining the big-nut transmission. The result is a ’67 Kombi that will sit happily at 65–70mph without over-revving — as quiet as one of these ever gets.

When it first arrived in the UK it received a full mechanical overhaul by Irv’s Restos, and it has been serviced by them annually ever since. Braking is via drums with a dual-master cylinder, delivering confident and predictable stopping performance.

Inside, it features a fully bespoke interior by Nick at Airteriors — easily among the best interior builders in the scene. The Rusty Lee bench converts into a bed, paired with a rear-facing buddy seat that folds away when not required. Storage has been cleverly integrated throughout, including a compartment for the stowed table.

Entertainment is through a retro-style Bluetooth stereo with uprated amps, tweeters and discreetly hidden speakers. At the rear, two 360° speakers add something genuinely special.

Recent additions include a roof-rack (Patina, obviously!), new back brakes and 4X new tyres.

A true patina king with the right style, the right interior and a true headturner.
