Welcome to the sale of one of my personal collections. I’m a big fan of T4’s, as they were one of the last Transporters before things got too electronic, such as lane correction, complex controls for basic functions etc. We were looking for a special low owner, low mileage & factory built camper for a long time & then came across this stunning example, which I have to say is truly one of,  if not the best you will find ! & I don’t say that lightly.

This bus was converted brand new by Reimo, (the “Lucky Deluxe” model), a German based company renowned for typical Germanic high standards & longevity, matching the Volkswagen perfectly . Of course the other top end German converter is Westfalia, however they didn’t produce a RHD version, making the Reimo the one to have, for the UK.

Finished in “Tornado Red””, it presents beautifully as you can see, testament to just 2 owners in its first 22 years. It was originally purchased by a Dr who lived in Plymouth, it was then acquired by the next owner as in Plymouth, when it was just 2 years old & it was then enjoyed for the next 20 years, touring into France a couple of times as well as the UK for the family of 4. The bus was loved & cared for extremely well by them & covered a mere 53,000 miles & confirmed by a FSH, documented in the original handbooks & receipts to prove. It had the cambelt & water pump done at 48,000 miles so no need to worry about that for some time. This is the 2.5TDi 88bhp version which apparently has been mildly chipped for performance & economy . I must say it drives very nicely, through the 5 speed box. Its equipped with Cruise Control, electric windows & mirrors, so feels quite modern in that respect.

One thing that I love about it, is that its never been messed about with, the suspension & even wheel trims are factory. It does come with a rear cycle rack, which we removed for a cleaner look, but very handy for holidays etc. A towbar was fitted, although very rarely used for a small camping trailer.

Open the doors & you're greeted by the perfect factory “Inka” trim, which upholsters the rear ¾ rock’n’roll bed as well. This conversion is such a well designed multi use vehicle. The “Variotech”,  rock ‘ n’ roll seat slides along the rails in the floor , enabling you to have it close to the front if you want either your passengers as close as a saloon car which gives a massive cargo space behind. You can also slide it all the way backwards, providing a massive camper floor space. You can even completely remove the rear seat to give a cavernous carrying capacity. The rear seat features 3 seat belts, so perfect for the family. Up front you have a choice of either 2 single captain seats, both equipped with armrests & the ability to rotate to face the camper interior. Or as fitted at the moment you have a single & a double, giving you a possible 6 seater capacity . This also has a rotating turntable. Ready for something to eat, use a laptop or play a board game the removable table is great & fits back in its own cupboard for storage.

The camper is well illuminated by downlighters & 2 strip lights, running from the leisure battery of mains hook up. Making it easy to see what you’re cooking on the twin gas hob & grill or washing up in the adjacent sink. Below that is an Electrolux fridge to keep your wine chilled & plenty of cupboards running alongside. The cupboards then raise to incorporate the wardrobe & further cupboards together with the thermostat for the on board heating & the control panel for the lighting, power & water level, so all very informative & well planned. There are curtain rails, which we prefer to keep clear & use the supplied silver screens instead to provide total blackout feature & further insulation.

Next is the brilliant “Superflat”, reimo roof, which rises effortlessly aided by the gas struts, which houses the upper bunk, suitable for adults or children , due to its solid construction. You’ll find on the front & 2 sides you have panels which unzip to allow light to flood in through the fly nets & can create a great vantage point.

So there you have it, one of the last T4’s to roll off the production line, in RHD, questionably the best interior, in superb condition, great history & possibly one of the lowest mileage T4’s left, so don’t hang about.

It's on the market for £23,995.
