The VW T3 Syncro 16" features a heavy-duty off-road package compared to the standard 14" model. Key upgrades include larger VW LT 3.5t brakes, 25mm longer rear trailing arms to fit larger tires, larger CV joints, and a standard rear differential lock. The body also features reinforced chassis components and unique wheel arch trims.

The legendary 16-inch version was specifically built by Volkswagen to handle much tougher terrain than its 14-inch sibling. Key mechanical and physical differences include:Drivetrain & Gears: Lower final drive ratios (e.g., 5.43 or 5.83) to compensate for the larger tire diameter and an included rear differential lock (with a front differential lock often added as an option).

• Chassis & Suspension: Welded bodywork reinforcements around the B-pillar and suspension hinges. It also includes stiffer shock absorbers and taller springs.
