For sale – 1971 VW Early Bay Camper

Here is a classic RHD early bay campervan with all the essentials for adventures and away days. A great, usable camper that’s already kitted out for adventure, with room for a little tinkering here and there if you fancy making it your own. This particular Bay Window was imported from South Africa in 2015. Being a 1971 model it came from the factory with disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the back making braking more effective.

Inside, you’ll find a cream and lemon interior with matching raffia mats and curtains, all complemented by a blue pop-top roof. The cabin features a Sony stereo with USB input, and speakers for those on-the-road playlists.

It’s a fully loaded camper setup: fridge, sink, cooker, buddy seat, storage units and power management system covering 240 V mains and 12 V DC leisure circuits for the fridge, lights and sockets. The rock-and-roll bed folds out three-quarter width for sleeping comfort. There is also a pop-up table, and outside you’ll find an alloy side step. This Bay is equipped with a tracking system for added peace of mind.

Powered by a 1600 cc flat-four engine, it’s running a dual-battery setup for leisure and start power.

A great base for those after a ready-to-go camper with the opportunity to add your own character.
