Here’s something a bit special – a 1987 RHD VW T3 Doka (called a "Doka" because Doka is a German abbreviation for Doppelkabine, meaning "double cab) with stacks of personality and some incredibly rare spec. Still running its original 2100cc engine, this truck shows just 80,000 genuine miles from new and includes the highly desirable tall DJ gearbox, giving it excellent drivability and longer legs on the open road.
 

A real standout feature here is the factory-fitted right-hand-drive power steering – an exceptionally rare spec for a T3 Doka and a big bonus for usability. It's also fitted with a Westfalia towbar, adding even more practicality to this already versatile classic.
 

It sits on lowered springs and shox with striking Lotus 3-piece wheels, now wrapped in brand new tyres. The overall stance is purposeful but usable, and it’s finished off with big bumpers, cab skirts, and a set of Maestro single headlamps up front. Custom side vents add a touch of individuality, while the bespoke steel drop-sides and working tailgate set it apart as a true utility vehicle with a twist.
 

Inside, the truck gets even more interesting. It’s fitted with an electric tilt-slide sunroof, leather electric Rover seats, and a custom Doctor Dub interior, with matching custom interior panels throughout. The rear window has been replaced with a bespoke bonded glass unit, a unique touch that elevates the cab feel.
 

Other upgrades include central locking, big electric mirrors, and customised lighting, giving it a more modern usability without compromising character.
 

Structurally, it’s very solid – only minimal welding has been needed over the years, and the truck has clearly been cared for. It was restored and repainted over 15 years ago, but has seen very little use since, retaining its sharpness and integrity.
