There’s something uniquely charming about a VW Camper that’s lived a happy life—and this one has stories to tell.

Originally hailing from the sunny, salt-free roads of South Carolina, this 1966 Left-Hand Drive Split Screen Campervan arrived in the UK in January 2013. Since then, it’s belonged to the same devoted couple for over a decade and has seen a level of care and continuity that's well deserved for a classic like this.

Not just a showpiece or a garage queen, this Camper explored Europe, enjoyed weekend getaways, and even served as a charming backdrop for weddings. It’s that perfect balance of vintage character and practical use.

Mechanically, it’s fitted with a strong 1600cc engine and has been well maintained over the years, with a new MOT issued in March 2025 and a brand-new battery recently installed. In 2022, a long list of maintenance tasks were completed—including brake system work, cables, shocks, clips, and hoses—all with invoices to support.

Cosmetically, she's a solid, classic head turner. She proudly wears a few imperfections—small bubbles on top of the doors, a few blemishes in the gutters, and minor scuffs on the rear bumper. The lower panels have been replaced (excluding the rear corners and engine sill), giving it a solid foundation, especially considering its dry-state origins.

Inside, the maroon and cream vinyl interior is warm and welcoming, complemented by a classic vinyl checkerboard floor. A full-width Rock ‘n’ Roll bed makes it a comfortable sleeper, and bespoke wooden cabinetry adds charm and functionality. There’s even a removable table and cooking unit for flexible use, as well as stylish rear window jail bars and pop-out side windows to complete the vintage camping vibe.

This is the kind of camper that turns heads, starts conversations, and puts a smile on every face that passes by. It’s been cherished, driven, and enjoyed—and now it’s ready to be loved all over again.
