Imported into the UK in 2019, this rare LHD 1964 Karmann Cabriolet was first delivered to New York before spending its years in Connecticut under the care of a Porsche 356 enthusiast. That background explains the current setup—original 356 wheels with Porsche nipple hubcaps. The rears have been subtly banded for a wider stance, while two original front spares are stored under the bonnet. It’s got that unmistakable Stateside style and tells its own story, without trying too hard.
With mostly original Sea Blue paint, an untouched interior apart from a handsome EMPI steering wheel, and honest signs of age throughout—this is a Beetle with real presence. A beautiful survivor, not a showroom repaint.
The 1200cc engine remains true to its roots and runs smoothly, as you’d hope from a car kept well-preserved over the decades. If you’re after something authentic and full of character, this one’s hard to beat. Standard wheels, the original steering wheel, and even a narrowed front beam are also available separately, should you want to tailor the look.
