Say hello to Violet, a wonderfully quirky and much-loved 1973 Left-Hand Drive Sportsmobile Penthouse Camper, finished in violet and white with matching bellows and interior detailing. Originally from the USA, she was first registered in the UK in 2012 and has enjoyed plenty of pampering ever since.
 

Violet is a rare original Sportsmobile conversion as far as the roof and front roof rack are concerned, featuring a patented elevating roof system that lifts and lowers easily from a single position. It was the first conversion to offer a full-sized solid bed in the roof — still a brilliant and clever bit of camper design today.
 

In the last year alone, Violet has seen a huge amount of mechanical and cosmetic care, including a new clutch, brakes, suspension, battery, electrical work, and more. The diesel heater works well and the interior remains full of charm and functionality, with coordinated upholstery, new curtains, vinyl floor tiles, and ample storage throughout.
 

She's powered by a 1600cc air-cooled engine, reconditioned in July 2018 and having done around 6,000 miles since. With heaps of paperwork, thoughtful upgrades, and loads of original character, Violet is ready for her next chapter of adventures.
