Introducing the Snotrod.

LOW, LOUD, FAST and with a serious ATTITUDE and altitude problem.

Amazing custom bodywork, all in steel. The fenders have been removed; the roof has been chopped and filled with a custom roof panel. Up front a late 30’s chrome commercial grille is housed in a custom fabricated shell that flows into an elongated bonnet with open sides. The letter box front screen retains its original opening. Chrome peep mirrors show the competition disappearing into the distance. Just below the beltline at the rear are custom made taillights made from prewar Mercedes pistons. Both front and rear lights house LED indicators. A centrally mounted chrome filler cap, an off-set number plate, mounted on a custom bracket obviously, and twin chrome tail pipes finish off the rear end.

Marz green pearl paint covers the bodywork. Ford Sublime green highlights the suspension, wheels and underbody.

This thing is LOW. Not just because of the top chop but also due to the body being channelled over the chassis (bespoke with boxed rails).

Between the front rails is the source of the LOUD and FAST: A crate 355cu in (5.8L) Chevrolet V8 sporting Corvette heads, tri power carbs, MSD ignition and a thumper cam. This is mated to an automatic, 3 speed T350 gearbox with modified clutch baskets. Extra volume and performance can be released by uncorking the headers.

The ‘box transfers all those horses and torque through the prop shaft to a Ford Atlas rear axle. The axle is suspended on fully adjustable aluminium coil overs and held firmly in place by a four-bar link. CNC hubs and Ford drum brakes feature on either end.

Front suspension duties are performed by a chrome drop tube front axle with elliptic spring, aluminium coil overs and rose jointed four bars. Stopping power is provided by Ford Granada discs and hubs hidden behind finned brake covers.

Rolling stock are brand new American Racing 5 spoke wheels and tyres; 275/60/R15 on the rear, 195/50/R15 on the front.

Inside the cabin are diamond stitches Intatrim bucket seats in tan with matching sunburst door panels. Wilton carpet covers the floor, and a vintage travel trunk sits behind seats over the battery and an aluminium fuel tank. The original dash has been reskinned and houses a full complement of SoCal gauges. Suspended below it is a tilt column with a three spoke wheel atop.

This car is a real head turner; however the general public will hear it before they see it. When the car finally comes into focus eyes are on stalks. It draws a crowd wherever it goes and frightens little children with its V8 roar.

It might sound like a beast but is a real beauty to drive. It is very well engineered and feels planted to the road. It can be docile in traffic with a light touch but can disappear when you stamp on the accelerator.

This is truly a one-off vehicle with so many custom touches and details. The smiles per miles are priceless but you can own this true hot rod for just £40,000
