For Sale ‘57 LHD Karmann Beetle Convertible-
At Resto Haus, we feel absolutely privileged to be commissioned to sell some of the very best Volkswagens available anywhere in the world. This stunning ‘57 genuine Karmann Beetle is part of the “Theochari Collection” and was purchased from Russell Ritchie, so knowing both custodians and the standard of their cars, you can rest assured this is superb.
We have the birth certificate, which confirms it was built in Osnabrück, Germany on the 12th February 1957 and left for America on the 19th and registered in San Francisco. It’s finished in one of the nicest colours Volkswagen ever produced, L232 Iris Blue, which looks stunning with the black hood and the superb chrome towel rail bumpers and rolling of polished, detailed 4.5” & 6” Fuchs replicas. I love the chrome door tops on a Karmann Beetle. When you have to roof down and the windows wound up, they just look so elegant & crisp.
To compliment the stunning exterior, is an interior to die for. Fully reupholstered in the finest “Blue Polka Dot”, fabric, to the seats and door cards, finished with grey German narrow square weave carpets. Sit in the driver's seat, to be greeted with all of the controls finished in period correct ivory, from the “Banjo” steering wheel with blue “Sun and Moon” horn push, to the lockable gear shifter, the bamboo parcel shelf to the switches on the dashboard. Speaking of the dashboard , check out the super rare clock mounted on the speaker grill, this car just oozes period perfection.
I think the silhouette of a Karmann Beetle is stunning with the roof up or down. When the hood is up and the windows wound down it looks cool and with the roof folded back and the matching black hood bag fitted you can imagine, meandering along the coast or through winding country lanes it is an absolute gem of a car.
Moving around to the full W deck lid, which was only produced for 2 years between ‘55-’57, lift it up to reveal again a period perfect element of the bug , the Okrasa style 1200cc engine, that runs like a swiss watch, with twin polished exhaust tips.
This 4 seater soft top classic Beetle embodies the timeless romance of open air motoring with all the charm of mid century German engineering. Displaying 70,989 miles (non-verified). They don’t often come to market and at £59,995 represents a very good investment.
We’re based in North Devon, close to some of the best beaches in the country and prettiest countryside, so the perfect place to start your adventures with your new classic Volkswagen. We also specialise in remote sales, so can provide you with a walkround video and a drive out video , together with assisting with national or international shipping. Thank you for reading.
